What is a Virtual Visit?
Pediatric Teledentistry is a virtual appointment with your child’s pediatric dental provider, which requires the use of a mobile phone, email and/or front facing camera on a computer (in a non-public environment) for video conferencing. This type of service is intended to provide guidance and recommendations on future dental, and medical care, if needed, for your child. One of the best things about a teledentistry visit is that you really don’t need to leave the comfort of your home. It can also be completed in any private setting as well.
Depending on your insurance carrier and your specific plan, a pediatric teledentistry visit my reduce your number of allowable routine examinations. Please check with your benefits administrator if you have any questions about your coverage and/or frequency limitations.
Is There a Cost for a Virtual Visit?
For follow-up visits that are included with your child’s treatment, there is NO CHARGE.
How Long Does a Visit Take?
Note: A visit to the office for a routine follow-up can take up to 30 minutes of time in the office, plus the time it takes for travel to and from the appointment.
